Resumen: While designing in a preexisting context, architects have implied-along the history two main ways. The two approaches are based on the level of respect that is attributed to the place and they-in a more speculative extent-reflect the cultural moment in which the architect sits, following the relationship human-world. The first way is represented by a subservient approach based on a great respect to the place. The provided context a natural cave or a preexisting building is left almost untouched and the series of modifications we call "project" is designed around or inside the existing situation. This approach can also be related to a primitive and intuitive behavior in regards of the world. Strengthened by growing knowledge, humanity started to look at the world as something upon which to apply its own rules: a blank canvas onto which project their needs, with the aim of creating and environment more comfortable and suiting their goals. This can also be explained by a technical vision of the world
