N2  - Architecture can be a very useful practice if considered in its basic meaning. A shelter or a place for commerce can cover some of the primary needs of people. Another and maybe a little more noble-way to conceive architecture is to relate it to a second level of human needs, those spiritual. After having a shelter, a market, a bath, a working and leisure place, people needs to deal with their intellectual or spiritual sphere. Churches, sanctuaries, cemeteries or temples come in this perspective. This issue features Memorial projects: different approaches, concerns and solutions from different parts of the world related to several human facts and events, from heroic to tragic. A special attention should be paid to this category of projects because of their substance and meaning.
